Long Field Academy pupils learn about managing their money thanks to workshops sponsored by The Melton
The programme, being delivered by finance and education specialist WizeUp, was introduced to the first group of students last Wednesday (April 27).
Long Field Academy assistant principal Craig Palmer said: “Teaching our students about managing their personal finances is an important part of our curriculum and we’re delighted the Melton Building Society is helping us to achieve this.”

Martin Reason, chief executive of the Melton, added: “Education gives you choices in life and it’s important to make the most of your time at school. Similarly, saving money not only gives you the ability to pay for the essentials in life, such as a deposit on a mortgage, but also to choose to have fun when you want to!”
If the financial education workshops prove successful, The Melton Building Society is hoping to roll them out to other schools in Melton and surrounding areas.
