The old pub, in Nottingham Street, is set to be sold at an auction held at Leicester City Football’s King Power Stadium on May 18.

Estate agents Shonki Brothers have listed the property as having a price guide of £165,000 to £175,000.

Kevin Billson, chairman of the Melton and district Campaign for Real Ale branch, said: “We were disappointed when it closed. It was a nice building which had real ales. There were a couple of different managers who tried to make a go of things there. We hope it can be sold to someone who’d run it as a pub but know this might not be realistic.”
