Job losses at Melton firm Pera Consulting as administrators begin wind-down of company

Melton-based firm Pera Consulting (UK) Limited is being wound down with all of its 45 staff having been made redundant - administrators have announced.

The company, based at Pera Business Park on Nottingham Road, appointed administrators on September 16.

At the time of going to press it wasn’t known if there had been any job losses as a result of the company entering administration.

Joint administrators Ryan Grant, Catherine Williamson and Anne O’Keefe, of global business-advisory firm AlixPartners Services UK LLP (AlixPartners) said in a statement: “Pera Consulting (UK) Limited is a management consultancy firm which works with governments and their agencies to deliver publicly-funded business support programmes to small and medium sized enterprises.

“The joint administrators were appointed over the company following a difficult trading period and increasing cash pressures triggered by the loss of a major Government contract during November 2015.

“Despite management’s efforts to lead a turnaround of the business, including exploring a potential sale of the business, the future funding requirement was too great to see the company through this difficult period.

“Regrettably, all employees have been made redundant with immediate effect. The administrators have commenced a structured wind down of the business and its operations.”

Pera Consulting is one of four separate companies which make up the innovation network Pera.

The Melton Times previously reported in April how one of the other Pera companies, Pera Technology, entered administration with a newly-formed company, Pera Technology Solutions Limited, rising from its ashes.

The other two Pera companies are Pera Business Park Ltd, which has grown rapidly over the last four years and now has over 50 tenants on site, and Pera Training.
