Charity offers free courses to help young Melton people get a job

TwentyTwenty, which has centres in Loughborough and Leicester, offers six-month free courses to students designed to help those who have left school without achieving their designed to help students who have left school without achieving their math and English GCSEs and who, for many reasons, could do with some help preparing to enter the job market.

It’s next ‘journey to work’ courses start in both centres in October and the charity is registering students now.

It now has funding to pay the travel costs of a limited number of young people from Melton and Rutland thanks

to the Rutland and Melton Training Fund which is committed to helping young people in rural areas access the support and training they need to get good jobs.

All the students registered on courses at the centres benefit from having a mentor to further support and encourage them for a year as they move between the support that TwentyTwenty offers into further education or into jobs.

The charity offers full training, support and expenses for mentors and it is looking for more volunteers to come forward to give an hour a week to make a real difference to a young person.
