Teams invited to sign up for quiz night in aid of charity Vista

The fun evening for all the family has been organised at Holwell Stute, Asfordby Hill, at 7.30pm on Saturday, September 17.

Teams of four are invited to enter at a cost of £5 per person which includes a light supper, a bar and raffle with lots of prizes.

Richard has been hosting quizzes around Leicestershire for over 25 years and has helped raise over £100,000 for a variety of charities including Rainbows, Rotary, Alzheimer’s, RNLI, Guides, Asfordby Friends of Gardens and Wildlife, 103 The Eye Community Projects, St Bartholomew’s Church Welby Church Project Fund and Mayor of Melton’s charities since 1996.

He said: “I’m aiming to raise over £1,000 for Vista this year and have already raised £500.

“My father Bill, who died in May, was registered blind for the last two years of his life and received help from Vista. My mother Brenda, who died in February 2013, spent over 20 years of her retirement working as a volunteer for the charity editing and recording their talking newspaper. It therefore felt a fitting tribute to my parents to raise funds for Vista in their memory.”
