The Little Stranger (12A) Dr Faraday, the son of a housemaid, has built a life of quiet respectability as a country doctor. During the long hot summer of 1948, he’s called to a patient at Hundreds Hall, where his mother once worked. The Hall has been home to the Ayres family for more than two centuries, but it’s now in decline and its inhabitants – a mother and her two children – are haunted by a dying way of life and by something more ominous. When he takes on his new patient, Faraday has no idea how closely, and how disturbingly, the family’s story is about to become entwined with his own. Friday and Thursday at 6pm, Saturday at 8.30pm, Sunday at 7.45pm, Monday at 8.15pm, Tuesday at 5pm and Wednesday at 8.45pm.

The Seagull (12A) The Seagull sees a tangle of love triangles play out at a family gathering. Actress Irina Arkadina visits her brother at his country estate, with her son. But when new faces come onto the scene, the family dynamic is disrupted and love’s all-encompassing power is put to the test. Sunday at 2.45pm, Monday at 6pm, Tuesday at 2pm and Thursday at 8.30pm.

Hurricane (15) Hurricane is the story of the Polish airmen who fought for England in the Second World War and were instrumental in winning the Battle of Britain. The squadron (303) with their legendary flying ace Jan Zumbach were hardened fighters having already seen action over Poland and France. Britain lacked trained pilots and young, unexperienced recruits were being shot down faster than new ones could be trained. So, the Poles with their tenacity and skill were a welcome addition to the British forces and Squadron 303 was equipped with the almost obsolete Hurricane and given RAF blue uniforms. They fought not just to keep Great Britain free from the Nazis, but also to keep alive the very idea of their own country, which had existed in its modern form for barely 20 years. Sunday at 5pm and Wednesday at 6pm.
