New head appointed at Stathern school

Pupils and staff at Stathern Primary School have welcomed a new headteacher this term '“ Matthew Lee.

Mr Lee has previously taught at schools in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

He succeeds Troy Jenkinson who was headteacher at Stathern for seven years.

He said: “I would like to say how much I am looking forward to working with the staff, pupils and parents to continue the great work that has been done over the last few years.

“My main priority is ensuring that our children have the very best primary school experience where they can explore their creative and sporting talents whilst achieving their full academic potential.”

Max Webb chair of governors said: “We are pleased to welcome Mr Lee as our new headteacher. We would like to thank Mr Jenkinson for his seven years of leadership at the school.

“Under his leadership and his and the staff’s dedication, a school rated as outstanding by Ofsted has managed to be recognised as one of the best in the county and nationally.

“We are delighted to have Mr Lee as our headteacher and look forward to working together to continue to develop a great place for children to come to.”
