Dare To Be Wild (PG) Young Irish garden designer Mary Reynolds (Greenwell, Love & Friendship) is determined to win the major prize at the Chelsea Flower Show, and travels to Ethiopia to persuade gifted botanist Christy Collard (Hughes, About Time) to help her. Christy is more concerned with his vital irrigation projects, but his reluctance evaporates when she manages to win his heart in this unusual and compelling romantic drama. Friday at 6pm and Tuesday at 7.45pm.

Anthropoid (15) In this powerful period thriller based on real events, a group of Czech resistance fighters plot to assassinate high-ranking Nazi official Reinhard Heydrich. Combining a breakneck plot, violence and gutchurning suspense, the film echoes the likes of Jean-Pierre Melville’s The Army Of Shadows, Paul Verhoeven’s Black Book and Edward Zwick’s Defiance in its depiction of individuals pushed to extreme acts of bravery in the face of unspeakable monstrosity. Saturday at 6pm, Sunday at 7pm, Mondya at 4.30pm and Tuesday at 2pm and 5pm.

Pete’s Dragon (PG) This live-action remake of Disney’s animated 1977 fable begins with cheery old woodsman Mr Meacham (Redford) telling stories of a forest-dwelling dragon. His forest-ranger daughter Grace (Howard) dismisses them as whimsy until she meets ten-year-old Pete (Fegley), an orphan who claims his best friend is a green dragon called Elliott. Grace then sets out to determine the truth and spare Elliott from capture by her money-grabbing uncle in this beguilingly suspenseful tale. Saturday at 1pm and 3.30pm and Sunday at 2.30pm.

Mechanic: Resurrection (15) Jason Statham is back for another set of macho escapades as Arthur Bishop, aka the titular ‘mechanic’ (mafia slang for hitman). Bishop is looking to put his feet up and retire from his murderous profession – but fate has other plans. When a formidable foe kidnaps the new love of his life (Alba), Arthur is forced to travel the globe on a seemingly impossible assassination mission. Baddies, bikinis and jaw-dropping action set pieces abound. Saturday at 8.30pm.
