The Wizard of Oz celeb cast launch Melton panto

Stars of this year's panto at Melton Theatre, The Wizard of Oz, followed the yellow brick road into town on market day to promote their Christmas production.

Former Coronation Street and Emmerdale actor Ken Farrington will play The Wizard in The Trio Entertainment panto, which will be performed from December 18 to 22.

Other stars who visited Melton on Tuesday for the panto’s official launch included Big Brother and Cirque De Celebrite star Grace Adams-Short, who will play The Witch of The West, CBBC’s Lucinda Rhodes, who will play Glinda the Fairy and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Stephen Hall, who will play The Lion.

They were joined by Melton Theatre pantomime favourite Stuart Earp, who will play the Scarecrow, Bessie McMillan, who will play Dorothy and musical theatre star Gary Amos, who will play The Tin Man.

The pantomime will also feature local children from the Starlight Performing Arts School.

Tickets dependant on age, families or groups are £10.50 each and are subject to a small booking fee.
