Scalford Olympecks still going ahead despite bird flu setback

Preparations for the Scalford Olympecks have taken a slight hit as bird flu has confined the hens to quarters.

Organisers are confident though that come race day (Arpil 30) they will be fit and ready to take centre stage in Melton Aurora Rotary Club’s annual Family Fun Day.

Rotarian Susan Herlihy said: “We’re in the final stages of planning and would invite members of the public who would like to rent a stall, to show off their arts and crafts, to get in touch with our planning group.

“Stalls are £15 for the day, however, local charities who wish to promote their work are invited to have a stall free of charge.”
