Melton brothers set up pie-making business

Brothers Rob and Pete Sharpe are the latest Melton food entrepreneurs with a range of homemade sweet pies.

The duo, who were born and raised in the town, will start selling their mince pies to train commuters at Melton station from November 21.

Ashley Spence, owner of the station’s coffee shop, Don’t be Latte, will be stocking them under their brand name Incredible Pies.

The brothers will also be showcasing their products at the town’s Victorian Fayre, which runs from December 2 to 4.

Rob said: “We have a passion for food and we have recently taken steps to set up our own business developing a range of sweet pies. We’ve had some excellent feedback so far.

“With the festive season upon us, we have decided to kick-start the business by developing a range of mince pies.

“We hope to contribute to Melton’s reputation as the rural capital of food by taking our products outside of the county to locations including Northampton, Newark and Stamford.
