The Vale of Belvoir is set to go barking mad for the Great British Dog Walk at Belvoir Castle on Sunday.

Around 350 adults, plus dogs of all shapes and sizes are expected to take part at 11am.

There will be 8km and 3km routes making it an ideal event for dog-lovers, families with or without buggies, couples, independent walkers and organised walking groups.

The Great British Dog Walk at Belvoir Castle is one of 20 fun-filled walks taking place around the UK to help ensure more hearing dogs can be trained to bring life-transforming benefits to deaf children and adults.

Refreshments, games and craft stalls will be on offer. Walkers can also bring a picnic to enjoy after the walk.

There is a free special limited-edition Great British Dog Walk doggie bandana and opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win a luxury Forest Holidays getaway with every event booking.

Lucy Ward, fundraising manager, said: “We’re thrilled to be holding this walk at Belvoir Castle for the first time. This will be a fun day that all the family can enjoy, even if you don’t have a dog!”

Tickets are £10 in advance for adults online at www.greatbritishdogwalk.org or £12 on the day. Children under 16 are free. Some shorter routes are suitable for parents with buggies.

The Great British Dog Walk is supported by MedicAnimal.
