A sports and leisure facility provider is inviting the community in Melton to join them for a day of free activities.
Everyone Active’s Waterfield Leisure Centre is hosting a free family fun day on Saturday, June 24, with the aim of showcasing the extensive activity opportunities available to people of all ages in the borough.
Many free activities will be available from 9am-6pm, including group exercise classes, children’s swimming lesson tasters, gym classes such as ViPR functional exercise classes, HIIT, Pure Abs and a 10am boot camp.
The free swimming classes will begin at 11am and are aimed at children aged three years upwards. The leisure centre is also inviting local football fanatics to try their hand at scoring past Everyone Active’s mascot, Bee Active, in a penalty shootout. A bouncy castle and other children’s activities will also be hosted in the sports hall.
In support of Drowning Prevention Week, (June 19-25), the facility will be offering a free drowning prevention session for children and adults at 3pm. Danielle Spencer Jones, Everyone Active’s trainer assessor will lead the session, with the hope of providing lifesaving knowledge of how to save another person during a life threatening situation.
Matthew Hopkins, general manager at the centre, said: “We’re really excited about this event. We’ve some brilliant facilities at Waterfield Leisure Centre, and I would encourage everyone to come and see what’s on offer. The day is guaranteed to be a lot of fun for all the family.”
