Have fun at The Venue in Melton

Fun activities for children are currently being held at the Melton youth entertainment hub, The Venue.

The Venue, which occupies the ground floor of Phoenix House in Nottingham Road is a members-only club for youngsters being co-ordinated by Melton Learning Hub, which organises practical courses for young people who are disengaged from learning. Other agencies involved are Melton Council and Melton Aurora Rotary Club.

On Thursdays, from 4-6pm, the centre is open to eight to 12-year-olds for arts, crafts films, pool tournaments, table football and music.

On Thursdays, from 7-9pm, the centre is open to 13 to 17-year-olds for movie nights, pool tournaments, gaming nights and beauty nights.

On Fridays, the facility is open to 13 to 17-year-olds for football, party nights, movie nights and computer game tournaments.

At each evening there is a non-alcoholic bar to buy sweets, chocolate or hot food.

For children to attend they should turn up to one of the evenings with a parent or guardian who will need to sign a permission form.

A Halloween evening has also been organised on Thursday (October 27) from 4-6pm. This event has an open invite to youngsters up to 17-years-old.

Activities will include apple bobbing, zombie darts, trick or treats, crafts and a lucky dip. Fancy dressed is encouraged as there will be prizes given out.

Admission is £2.50 and includes free pizza or a hot dog on arrival.
