The Santa parade will also be taking place from 3.45pm at the Community Centre and travel up St Peter’s Street, along Melton Road to the Sundial Entrance, where Santa will leave his sleigh and proceed to the stage for the light switch-on ceremony.

On stage this year performing will be St Paul’s Hand Bells, Syston Band, llea Cavagner, Kimika, The Left Hand Band and Ska Amanga.

Other entertainment on the day includes a mini fun fair, Santa’s Grotto and street entertainer Superman.

The park will be floodlight from 3pm and a firework display will close the event at around 4.30pm.
