Following last year’s sell-out concert The Uppingham School Chamber Orchestra are set to return to Melton on Friday at St Mary’s Church.

The group are back with a varied and exciting programme in aid of the Melton Rotary Philippines Primary School Project and other rotary charities.

The evening will start with Copland’s rousing Fanfare for the Common Man, followed by Richard Strauss’ sublime Serenade for 13 Wind Instruments. Talented Upper Sixth violinist Ali Asgarov will perform Bach’s Concerto in E major for Violin and Strings and the concert will end with Schubert’s expressive and melodic ‘Unfinished’ Symphony No. 8 in B minor.

Tickets for the concert only are £8, for the concert, wine and canapes £15, and for the concert and a pre-concert meal at La Torre restaurant £29.50.

They can be bought online at www.meltonrotary.org.uk/StMarysConcert or by calling (01664) 503521 or 481997.

The evening begins from 7.30pm. All are welcome.
