First finalists announced for seventh Vale's Got Talent competition

Talented contestants will battle it out to be named the winner in the final of the Vale's Got Talent show in December.

Eight acts including four from the Melton area have made it through auditions and the semi-finals to vie for the title.

During the semi-finals all acts performed in front of a supportive audience at The Grange Radcliffe-on-Trent. The judges were Roy Taylor a.k.a Vince Eager, Jane Murray and Paul Turner.

Among the Melton and Vale acts reaching the final are dance groups Sax and Waves of the Belvoir Dance Academy, singer David Newton of Asfordby and singer Emily Brown of Melton.

Others acts to reach the final include modern, ballet and tap dancer Poppy Abbot, singer Tamsin Dunkley, pianist and singer Felicity Turner and The Barbershop Quartet.

Fifteen more acts will compete for their spot in the final at second semi-final rounds happening at The Grange Radcliffe-on-Trent, on Friday, November 17, at 7pm.

The final itself takes place at the same venue on Friday, December 2, at 7pm.

The competition, with a top cash prize and a coveted trophy, is being organised by the Vale of Belvoir Rotary Club to support its good causes.

The contest is being sponsored by Spire Nottingham Hospital and is supported by Whetherspoons, The Buttercross, Bingham.
