A selection of wildlife themed activities, including badger watches, butterfly walks and osprey spotting, are happening through August.

The events, organised by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust, are taking place around the tranquil setting of Rutland Water and are aimed at attracting families.

Enjoy an evening of badger watching on Saturday and Wednesday. Meet in the car park of the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre.

Identify different species of butterflies on a walk for beginners on Sunday, from 10am-1pm. Meet at the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre.

Explore the world of ospreys at a family fun day on Tuesday, from 10am-3pm. Includes sight seeing, games, mask making, guided walks and a treasure hunt. No need to pre book, £5 per child, £10 for families. Meet at Lyndon Visitor Centre.

Experience bug hunting and pond dipping sessions at a family drop-in day on Sunday 30th, from 10am-2pm. No need to pre book, £3 per person. Meet at the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre.

Discover bats using detectors on a walk for beginners on Sunday 30th, from 4pm-10.30pm. Cost is £20 per person and this includes soup and a bread roll supper. Meet at the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre.
