History enthusiasts will be able to experience another chilling reminder of Britain’s past on Sunday.

A Cold War event has been organised by Jed Jaggard of Up An’ At ‘Em History on Buckminster Primary School’s playing fields.

There will be Cold War re-enactors and displays, a Britain and the Bomb talk, military vehicle visits, a civil defence rescue demonstration and much more.

The Buckminster Bunker will also be open for a chance to look around the Royal Observer Corps monitoring post which was set up in case of nuclear war.

The fascinating Cold War event which starts at 10am-4pm, is £3 for adults, and £1 for children and concessions. Hot and cold refreshments will be served.
