Performers include the PLC brass band and the Rutland Singers, who are part of the Rutland Choral Society.
Concert organiser Jenny Smith said: “Around 5,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in Leicestershire and Rutland every year and Hope Against Cancer helps to make a real difference. I really do hope people come and support this truly worthwhile cause and enjoy an evening of fantastic music too.”
Tickets cost £12.50 and are available from Knights of Oakham (01572) 722240, Uppingham Sports & Books (01572) 822211, Mary Lloyd (01572) 823478 and Sue Hanbury (01572) 821825.
Hope Against Cancer was set up in 2003 to increase the funds available for cancer research in Leicestershire and Rutland and make clinical trials more available to local people. Surveys demonstrate that when patients with cancer are treated at cancer centres and units carrying out research, outcomes are significantly improved.
