Five inspiring and uplifting films are to be screened at Melton Sports Village to raise the spirits of people at a low ebb and help them make new friends.

Sam Kitson, a cultural health project worker at Melton Council, who is organising the ‘Films To Make You Feel Good’ initiative, said: “Whether people are looking to make new friends, have an afternoon to escape or are just in need of cheering up these positive and inspirational films will help to do that.”

Singin’ in the Rain is first up on November 2, followed by Marvellous (December 7), Dance Hall (January 4), Life is Beautiful (February 1) and Calendar Girls (March 7).

The films start at 2pm and tickets costing £2 or £6 for a family of four are available by telephoning 01664 481118.
