Excited Sherard Primary School pupils were challenged to put their super sleuth skills to the test as part of their Sherlock Holmes-themed World Book Day celebrations.
The school was visited by two police officers yesterday (Thursday) who set up a mock crime scene for the children to examine and pupils also took part in various investigative and clue-solving tasks.
Some of the Key Stage 1 pupils also got the chance to look inside a police car.
Children, who dressed up as cops and robbers, also took part in the reading of Sherlock Holmes during their action-packed day.
Hayley Cheeseman, Year 6 teacher and literacy co-ordinator, said: “The children were so excited and they really got into the Sherlock Holmes theme.”
