The exhibition on Saturday at Nether Broughton Village Hall started with a preview evening the night before.

David Mellor, chairman of the Vollans Art Group, said: “There was a varied selection of artwork to view. Compared to our first exhibition last year, the attendance this time was up by about 75 per cent.

“I also held a raffle which 111 people entered. The prize won by Mr and Mrs Houghton was a pedestal flower arrangement.”

The Vollans Art Group meet weekly on Wednesday evenings, at the village hall, from 10am until 4pm.
