Melton Library has four new display boxes and a beanbag for its children’s area thanks to a generous donation from a former library user.

Well-known Meltonian Leonard Townend, who died last year (2014), left the donation to the library.

Mr Townend (89), of Hatfield Drive, was the founder and previous chairman of the Melton RAFA club.

His family agreed that the furniture would not only be a lasting tribute, but would benefit young people using the library.
