Somerby events to commemorate 70th anniversary of Battle of Arnhem and honour the Queen's 90th birthday

A special afternoon tea and film showing have been arranged to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Arnhem and in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday.

The events at Somerby Methodist Church on Saturday, (April 23), will remember the bravery and courage of Tony Constable and Jerry Dimmock - two of the remaining Leicestershire Para-troop Association veterans who died this year.

The film will start at 2.30pm with afternoon tea being served at 4.30pm. Both will be hosted by Somerby Parish Community Hub and Computer Matters.

Entry is £4 and admission fees will raise funds for the Leicestershire Para-troop Association.
