Jill said: “Participants will be myself and my secondary age pupils and we will be playing a variety of solos and duets.

“It’s all in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust and I have chosen this charity in connection with my son’s friend, Sam Mayfield (23), who is fighting bowel cancer.

“He has had very good support from the local Teenage Cancer Trust team and is keen to sing their praises and raise money for them to express his thanks for what they have done for him.

“My son Owen and another of the group of friends are coming back home to play in the concert too and we are hoping Sam will be well enough after his operation to attend along with other family and friends of his and of my pupils.”

She added: “The evening will include light refreshments, donations for which will also go to the charity along with donations towards wrist bands.

“Asfordby Parish Church has very kindly offered us their beautiful building for the evening at no charge and Jeffrey Pilkington Birch (local piano tuner) has also offered to tune the piano for the event for nothing for which I’m very grateful. We hope to raise a really good amount for Teenage Cancer Trust.”

Tickets are £5, £3 on the door. For more details call Jill on 07725 752270.
