The Vinyl Woos and DJ Mick J of Grantham present Asfordby Soul 2 at Asfordby Parish Hall on Friday.

The evening will consist of northern and classic soul, Motown, R&B and the odd surprise. There will be a bar from 8pm-12.30am and music will go on until 1am.

Friday also sees Chris Duckett perform at the Genny B. He is a singer songwriter from Leicestershire, who combines world fusion music with the guitar, didgeridoo, percussion and cajon.

The Noels Arms host Slither on Friday. These guys are a slick outfit that have a set that reads like a rock Top Gear compilation.

On Saturday, The Genny B plays host to Sweet Thief. They will hit you with covers from Heart, Whitesnake, Maiden, Dio and Lacuna Coil.

Riot Act will be causing a stir at the Noels Arms on Saturday. They will play rock and metal classics from the likes of AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Metallica and others.

Lively fun band the Vertigo Tarts will be at The Grapes on Saturday. The four-piece band from Nottingham will play hits from Thin Lizzy, Status Quo, REM, Free, Pink Floyd, The Proclaimers, The Rolling Stones and much more.

Sunday sees Junction Acoustic bring their acoustic set back to the Noels Arms. Their set will include songs from Peter Gabriel, Bon Jovi, Thin Lizzy ,Rush, CCR and many more.

Back by popular request Leigh Hitch will headline at The Grapes on Sunday. The guitarist from Lincolnshire will entertain his audience with upbeat pop and rock tunes from all eras tailored to people in the room.

His aim is to get you dancing, singing along and reminiscing to all your favourite songs.

The Crown at Asfordby welcome comedienne Christine Coles through their doors on Sunday.

For over 10 years Christine has certainly earned her reputation as one of the north’s most popular stand-ups.

Govannen, the four or sometimes five-piece band, featuring fiddles, Irish whistles, bodhran, guitar, keyboards and cajon drums perform at The Sugar Loaf in Ab Kettleby, on Sunday.

You’ll be able to move your feet to the rockinest rocksteady beats of One Man Two Tone again at The Half Moon on Bank Holiday Monday. Songs from The Specials, Bad Manners and others will blare out at the venue.

Tuesday sees Melton Folk Club gather in the Tiger Room at The Crown, a new venture for people of all ages and hosted by Adrian Kerr.

On Wednesday, there is another open mic night scheduled at The Three Crowns-Steamin’ Billy, in Oakham. It will be hosted by Simon Booth.
