Melton Gig Guide: August 19 to 24 - Melton Times

The Noels Arms hosts The Fentones tomorrow evening. They're a stripped back four-piece employing guitars, bass, piano, vocals and percussion.

Their set list will include forgotten favourites from Paul Simon to Joe Jackson and Steely Dan to Nat King Cole.

On Friday, at the Genny B, move your feet to the rockinest rocksteady beat of One Man Two Tone.

Songs by Madness, The Specials, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, The Beat , Bad Manners and The Jam will blair out from the venue.

Saturday features another soul night at Asfordby Hill venue, The Stute. It will be £4 to get in and starts from 8pm.

Sticky Fingers return to the Genny on Saturday. Mick Keef takes the night off and lets Scampi, Ken and the band be the highlight of your weekend.

Honky Tonk Rose will make their debut at the Noels Arms on Sunday.

Country music is enjoying a huge revival at the moment, so you’re sure to love this Midlands based country/Americana band with a retro vibe.

Honky Tonk Rose are made up of four people who sing country harmonies and play the dobro guitar, pedal steel, mandolin and the banjo.

Tuesday sees Melton Folk Club gather in the Tiger Room at The Crown, a new venture for people of all ages and hosted by Adrian Kerr.

On Wednesday, there is another open mic night scheduled at The Three Crowns - Steamin’ Billy, in Oakham. It will be hosted by Simon Booth.
