Melton Gig Guide: April 7 to 12 - Melton Times

Tonight is open mic night at the Saddle in Twyford, and Tenaciously D are performing. They are a tribute act to the musical comedy duo of Jack Black and Kyle Glass.

Fentones Lite are performing at the Noels Arms on Friday. They are a stripped back four piece from their full function band line up. Their song repertoire includes covers from the likes of Paul Simon, Joe Jackson, Steely Dan and King Cole.

Saturday sees The Soultones arrive with their debut performance at the Noels Arms. They play the very best of soul and motown hits.

Fronted by Chris and Elin Betts their soulful vocal performances are laid down with grooves from Jay, Ken, Ed and Andy.

Sweet Thief are back at The Genny B on Saturday and are ready to “hit you with their best shot!”

They will rock the pub with covers ranging from Heart and Whitesnake to Maiden, Dio and Lacuna Coli. The band also have a new member who will increase their sound.

Amy Gilbert headlines and excellent night at The Grapes on Saturday. She was only 16 when she started giging around the country.

The Noels Arms host The Big Pla n on Sunday. The band encourage you to “Shout ‘em out! If they know it they’ll play it!” As long as you join in!

David Bowes will play at The Saddle in Twyford on Sunday. With his many years of experience performing bass, guitar, drums and vocals he will execute a great collection of 60s, 70s and 80s hits to the present day.

A night of excellent guitar riffs and songs will be performed at The Crown on Sunday by Cliff Bywater, a member of Mod Story. He looks set to entertain with sounds from Mendelssohn to Metallica.

Last but not least, Tuesday sees Melton Folk Club gather in the Tiger Room at The Crown. This is a new venture that welcomes people of all ages and is hosted by Adrian Kerr.
