Eastwell ready to party again

A wealth of exuberant entertainment and activities for all the family will be on offer at the 23rd Eastwell Fete on Saturday.

Among the highlights of the event will be tricks from multi-award winning magician Damian Surr and extoic animals and owl encounters by Tony Butler.

An archaeological display by the Melton and Belvoir Searach Society and vintage and classic cars will also be on offer at the event which is raising money for St Michael and All Angels Church.

Also on the programme will be craft demonstrations, dog show, a street market, vintage tractor displays, a caricaturist, Mr Wong and his Wuhan Gong, The St Wulfram Handbell Ringers, bunjee trampolines, face painting, skittles, a bar, barbecue, cream teas, a sandwich bar and mediaeval music and instruments from Paul Baker.

PCC church organsier Sue Watford said: “Fancy a relaxed day out towards the end of the school holidays? Why not come along to Eastwell and enjoy a friendly, laid back, traditional English country fete, in the grounds of Eastwell Hall and the mediaeval church and churchyard, with plenty to amuse and occupy all the family.”

The event will run in the church grounds from 11am to 5pm, there will be free parking and entry costs £2.50 for individuals or £5 for families.
