The team behind recent productions of Oliver, Rent and Fawlty Towers will perform Sister Act from October 12 to 15.

Sister Act - a divine musical comedy - is a hilarious show, packed full of colourful characters, fabulous musical numbers and, of course, a host of singing, dancing nuns.

The story pursues flamboyant club singer, Deloris Van Cartier who, after witnessing a murder is sent into hiding in the one place nobody will ever think to look, a convent.

What follows is hilarious, outrageous and often moving drama as Deloris tries to teach the nuns how to enjoy life, but in turn learns a valuable lesson about the real meaning of sisterhood.

This is the first time Sister Act has been performed at Melton Theatre and it promises to be an unforgettable show, with a diverse and talented cast.

Auditions are over but if you still want to get involved with the production, it’s not too late as TMMTC are now seeking crew members to work backstage.

TMMTC chairman, Marilyn Pepper, said: “Working backstage is a fantastic entry point for those who have an interest in the theatre but aren’t quite ready to perform. It gives people a chance to see how theatre works and to play a really important role in creating a fantastic show.”
