Melton Pool League - Noels break their Winter League duck in Half Cut rout

JANET Noels Best broke their Division Three duck in the Melton Winter Pool League in excellent style as they romped to an 8-1 defeat of Half Cut.

The Crown continued their good start with Matt Wade and Paul Lewin winning twice to help beat Legion B 6-3, and 1 Moon 2 Cheeks got off the mark as Jimme Tuck and Dave Burdett guided them to a 5-4 win at MSC Elite.

Rich Hodson and Richard Lowe inspired the Saddle as they edged out Ingall’s Idiots 5-4, while Paul Keightley starred for Phoenix Knights in their 5-4 win at I Smell A Re-rack.

l Armee Pere made it three from three in Division Four with a 5-4 win over the Welby Onion Ring Stackers thanks to Jordan Ross, Ivan Sherlock and Anthony Wreathall. The Con Merchants are also unbeaten as Steve Cook, Wendy Thorpe and Jed Wright steered them to a 7-2 success against Toys ‘R’ Us, while the Genny Jokers also won 7-2 against Burton St Preachers thanks largely to Jeb Chapman, Jack Brown and Michael Jones.

Royal Poke got their first win on the board with Josh Northing and Aaron Booth well supported by Ralph Earnshaw and George Fleming to beat My Swans are Sick 7-2, while James and Will Vamplum won the deciding pairs frame in Wilko’s Specials’ 5-4 win at Touching Cloth.

l The Noels BBs stayed unbeaten in Division One, but needed a captain’s performance from Pete Stapleford to help overcome Fubar 5-4.

The Duke opened their win account as Joel Scott, Rob Barker and Tim Goodacre all won twice to beat the Swanderers 6-3, and Timmy’s Stick also registered their first win, Dave Pritchett and James Chambers winning the final frame decider in a 5-4 win over the Fulderiks.

l In Division Two, Only Fools and Polish won again with Joe Zbaraski, Andy Zarebski and Scott Hanson on song to beat Lads We’re Broke 6-3.

Mark Searle, Bill Robinson and Matt Frier helped the A Treeam defeat Legion A 6-3, and Hadley, Simon Peters and Nathan Murray all bagged a brace for the MSC 99s who won 7-2 at Gang Crazy.

But Boys and Their Toys enjoyed the week’s biggest win, storming to an 8-1 thrashing of the Conkerers.
