Melton Pool League - Armee march on alone with league’s last perfect record

ARMEE Pere are now the only team still with a 100 per cent record in all the divisions of the Melton Winter Pool League.

They made it six wins in a row in Division Four as Ivan Sherlock, Bailey Raffell and Lee North all won twice in a 6-3 result at the Genny Jokers.

The Welby Onion Ring Stackers are second after Stephen Kirk, Dave Core and Matt Parker Jones all won twice in a 7-2 success over the Pool Boyz. My Swans are Sick ended the Con Merchants’ winning start with Dean Lowe, Aaron Worthington and Kyle Murray starring in a 7-2 victory.

James Vamplum, Stef Dent and Gary Daniels were all on form as Wilko’s Specials defeated Toys ‘R’ Us 6-3, and an eight-baller from Mike Allen was the highlight of the Burton St Preachers’ 7-2 win against Touching Cloth.

l The Cherry Tree brought an end to the Stute’s winning start with both Craig Newbold and Lewis Field producing eight-ball clearances in a 7-2 victory.

MSC A moved into second after Liam Cooley put in the star performance to help beat the Thunders 6-3, while the Swanderers won the battle of the Swan as Dave Tyler teamed up with Steve Davies to win the decider for a 5-4 victory over Timmy’s Stick.

Eaton YM came from 3-0 down to run out 5-4 victors against the Noels BBs, while Mike Moore was star man for Fubar who inflicted a 5-4 defeat on the Fulderiks.

l In Division Two, Rob Petch and Scott Corbett steered the A Treeam to a 5-4 win at the Crazy Gang.

Jasper Wippich set up the chance for Rob Smith to win the deciding frame and give the Conkerers a 5-4 win over the Welby, and Boys and Their Toys edged out Gang Crazy 5-4.

Alan Kearney produced an eight-baller and, along with Sean Wydra, guided Lads We’re Broke to a 5-4 triumph over the Legion A, while Harboro-Cadabra claimed a walkover against the absent MSC 99s.

l Janet Noels Best moved to the front of the Division Three field after Tabby, Matt and Mike Swann all won twice in a 6-3 win over Notorious TIB.

Rich Hodson and John Carter helped the Saddle overcome the Legion B 6-3, while Kris Owen was largely responsible for I Smell a Re-rack’s 5-4 victory against Half Cut.

Rich Mitchell and Paul Keightley guided the Phoenix Knights to a 5-4 success over MSC Elite, while Jimme Tuck and Martin Davis ensured 1 Moon 2 Cheeks were 5-4 victors against Ingall’s Idiots.
