Hamilton Tennis Club: Parmar celebrates prize treble

Ryan Parmar was top performer as Hamilton Tennis Club held a presentation evening for their 2015 club championships.

Parmar completed a hat-trick, winning the men’s singles and doubles, with Steve Wallace, as well as the mixed doubles with Charlie Griffin.

The ladies’ doubles winners were Beth Lowe and Jenny Golland, while the ladies’ singles final between Nicky Kennedy-Maggs and Sibella Chew had to be postponed when Sibella injured her wrist the day before the final.

In the veterans’ section for over 50s, the men’s doubles winners were Doug Hacking and David Gildove, ladies’ doubles winners were Sue Corfield and Rosie Gildove, and the mixed doubles winners were Doug Hacking and Margaret Heggs.

* On the match scene, the junior teams have had a tough time, despite mostly having the benefit of playing indoors.

The under 14s girls’ team of Libby Duncan and Abigail Hickling lost 4-2 to Leicestershire A.

Libby won her singles and then combined with Abigail to narrowly lose their doubles.

Meanwhile, the under 14 boys’ team of Ciaran Boylan and Matthew Gamble lost 6-0 to Stoney Stanton.

* The under 9s A team of Amber York and Finn Mullholland lost 4-2 to Knighton B, where they won the doubles, and were also beaten 6-0 by Kibworth.

The under 9s B team of Danny Kettle and Ella Fairbrother went down 4-2 to Birstall, also winning the doubles, before losing 6-0 to Stoney Stanton A.

Luke Craven and Leah Adams, representing Hamilton under 9s C team, lost 6-0 to Carisbrooke E.

* The under 8s A team of Frazer Jackson, Oliver Brown, Jack Skailes and Caitlin Corah lost 15-1 to Leicester Forest East with Jack winning the consolation set.

Hamilton’s under 8s C team of Lucy Upton, James Drennan, Hugo Skailes and Finnley Craft lost 10-6 to Enderby C with Lucy and James each recording three wins.
