Youthful Melton lose out at Stamford

A trio of junior players gained some senior match experience as Melton Indoor Bowls Club visited Stamford IBC for a friendly on Saturday.

The hosts tried to gain control from the start and by the fifth end led by 11 shots.

Melton fought hard to get back into the game, but by 12 ends Stamford had increased their advantage to 26 shots.

The visitors pushed to close the gap over the last three ends and managed to win on three rinks, but lost overall.
