Vice-captain wins captain's event

Melton Mowbray GC ladies' section played for the Lady Captain's Team Players' Trophy, organised by lady captain Liz Snow for ladies who have played in and supported teams during the past season.

Clear winner of the Stableford competition was vice-captain Bettyne Norton with 34 points from Margaret Samways (31points) in second place and Cheryl Osborne in third with 30 points.

Melton’s Mixed team finished their season’s fixtures with a 3-3 draw away at Humberstone.

Haydn Snow and Cheryl Osborne had a well-earned 2 and 1 win while John Squires and Bettyne Norton won 1 up on the last green.

Alan and Drina Terzza won4 and 3 win but David and Janet Bentley lost 1 down with the last putt of the match.

The Senior section had an away day to Sleaford Golf Club. The team event was won by Richard Grieve, Dave Bailey and George Hoskins with 98 points.
