Stoke Rochford Golf Club seniors entertained Kibworth seniors on a dry but blustery day.

The opposition brought their strongest possible side with a view to breaking their duck at Stoke.

They came very close to achieving this goal with four of Stoke’s winning pairs going to the last hole in a four-and-a-half to three-and-a-half home victory.

STOKE ROCHFORD SENIORS 4.5 KIBWORTH 3.5

Scores: Graham Manton/Ray Beal won 1-up; Chris Woof/Barry Mitchell won 1-up; Phil White/John Wright lost 4 and 2; Cliff Mills/David Hamilton won 2-up; Brian Keightley/Tim Haward lost 2-down; Mike Graves/Barry Coop won 1-up; Philip Varley/Mike Thornton halved; John Batty/Roger Nicholls lost 3 and 2.

* The anticipation of Stoke Seniors’ visit to Lincoln Torksey met all expectations, apart from the result, with the course in excellent condition.
