Stoke Rochford Golf Club: Scarborough pair win Invitation Open

Stoke Rochford Golf Club’s Ladies’ Invitation Open was won by Marion Carvath and Caroline Woodhouse from Scarborough South Cliff.

Melton GC pair Avis Griffin and Peggy Newton finished second, and Sheila Dugmore and Jackie Friend (Greetham Valley) completed the top three.

* The Carlton Cup stableford was won on countback by Sue Taylor with 37 points from Sheila Dugmore.

Marion Carvath took third place with 35 points, and the scratch prize went to Pam Watson with 31.

* A total of 40 golfers played in the annual Stoke Rochford Seniors Captain’s Away Day.

Team winners were Dave Esswood, Eddie Plane and Phil Hewes with 78 points, three ahead of runners-up Don Werner, Bill Duke and Steve Major.
