Stoke Rochford Golf Club’s seniors’ section held their annual meeting last week where outgoing captain Mike Nixon handed over the reins to new seniors skipper Graham Manton.

Jim Price was also elected vice-captain at the meeting where officers reported on the past year’s events as well as their plans for the future.

Afterwards, a group of 38 remained to play the latest in the Winter Warmers series which was a foursomes competition.

Brian White and Keith Eddy were victorious with 39 points, just half-a-point ahead of runners-up Eddie Plant and Alan Church.

Cliff Mills and Simon Mulla took third place with 35.5 points on countback from fourth-placed pair Roy Rowe and Peter Gill.

The results allowed Eddie Plant to strengthen his lead in the overall series with 29 points.

He now leads by five from Greg Ewart, while reigning champion Brian White moved up into third place with 22 points.

A total of 75 players have competed in the competition this season which continues, weather permitting, until the end of March.
