The Quorn Hunt Pony Club achieved a major victory at the Pony Club National Championships held at Cholmondley Castle on Friday.
Their young team of Violet Barton, Molly Brown, Hannah Spray and Lily Walker were crowned best Novice team in the UK after a tense finale.
They came through the regional qualifiers at Broomfield Hall Equestrian Centre, in Derbyshire, and competed against 39 other four-strong teams from all over the UK and Ireland over two challenging rounds.
A total of 13 teams finished on zero after the first round and the Quorn Hunt PC team rode brilliantly to claim victory after a tense and testing second round which was cleverly built and caused problems for many of the competitors.
It was nail-biting for their parents and supporters who watched anxiously, but they were all thrilled and proud to win the prestigious competition.
