Melton’s Muay Thai Assassins team will have a South American flavour when they line up for their hometown show next month.

Luna Turbin has travelled from Peru to train with multiple world champion Iman Barlow and her father Mark, head coach of the Assassins.

As part of her two-month stay, the university student, from Lima, will turn out for the Assassins at the Market Tavern on Saturday, March 7.

Luna (22) came to England last year while travelling across Europe and contacted Iman via Facebook.

Mark said: “We’re delighted as Luna is a great prospect and we think the Assassins can help her on her Muay Thai journey.”

She faces an opponent from Southampton at the show.

* Last Sunday, Elizabeth Griffiths warmed up for the show with a split decision win in Milton Keynes on Sunday.

The 11-year-old Assassin pushed the pace during five hard rounds against Manchester’s Alisa Johns, and looked strong in the clench to avenge last year’s defeat.

* Tickets are available from any Assassin member, Facebook Assassins Muay Thai, or Iman Barlow.
