The Len Manchester Motorcycles Classic Race Team were back in action with Antony Hart in the International Classic Grand Prix at Mallory Park.

Qualifying was run over two sessions on Saturday in good weather conditions, and the Melton rider put in another excellent performance to finish fifth overall and secure a second row grid position.

The riders were greeted with mixed conditions of a wet track which was drying fast for the Sunday morning warm-up session after overnight rain.

Further showers before the start of the first race made conditions very tricky, but again the track was drying.

And as conditions improved, Hart increased his pace and, clocking the third fastest lap of the race, moved up from eighth and into fifth by the finish.

The second race was run in ideal conditions and Hart was involved in a terrific race-long battle, again managing to secure fifth position at the chequered flag.

The team’s next outing is at Cadwell Park, in Lincolnshire, at the end of July and team manager Arnold Fletcher is hopeful of another good result at one of Hart’s favourite tracks.
