A talented quartet from a Melton karate club have earned a national call-up after some impressive performances.

Remi Aziz, Callum Breward, Zayda Aziz and Ellis Nugent, members of the Melton Kyokushinkai Karate Club, have been called up to represent England in the Severn Challenge Tournament, later this month, in Cardiff,

The club’s students also enjoyed success at the Greg Hitchings Memorial Tournament, in Great Dunmow, Essex, in September.

Callum finished first in the Kyokushin Rules Knockdown competition, with Remi taking second place in the same class.

Bradley Rawlings was a winner in the junior clicker category where clubmate Zayda Aziz finished third.

The Melton team, consisting of Sempai Dan Fryer (captain), Callum Breward, Remi and Zayda Aziz, Hugh Horton, Bradley Rawlings also finished second overall in the team competition.
