Melton IBC member Jenny McConnell, president of the English Indoor Bowls Association, was the challenger and put out a mixed team of her fellow club members and EIBA representatives.

They took on the team of Bowls England president Marcia Dunstone and managed to win the game by an aggregate of 197 shots to 133.

The return outdoor match will be held during the summer in Oxford.

Melton has filled the national EIBA president’s role for the last two seasons with Jenny succeeding Arthur Broadberry in the coveted position.
