Melton Indoor Bowls Club played host to two closely-fought matches in the latest round of the Warren Triples League on Saturday.

The match between Syston and Barnstone saw both teams gunning for control from the start, and after nine ends Barnstone had surged into a 16-shot lead.

Syston fought back and after 15 ends the scores were level at 56 shots apiece, but Barnstone pushed hard and picked up 13 shots in the final three ends to Syston’s seven to clinch the aggregate win. The rinks were shared, two each,

Belvoir Vale started fast in the other match, but Melton IBC B had forged a five-shot lead at the halfway stage.

Both teams battled hard and the Hose-based club came back well to win the match on aggregate shots, while, again, the rinks were shared.
