Saturday night saw the first Warren Triples matches since the Christmas break as Melton Indoor Bowls Club’s two teams took on Barnstone and Belvoir Vale.

There was a steady start to the Melton IBC B versus Barnstone match with the villagers edging three shots ahead after five ends.

Both teams played hard to gain control of the match, but it was Barnstone who gradually increased their advantage to a sizeable 17 shots by the 15th end.

Melton fought hard to reduce the deficit and claimed an excellent aggregate draw, winning one rink to deny Barnstone maximum points.

The evening’s other match also began tightly with Melton IBC A building a narrow five-shot lead by the halfway mark.

The hosts maintained the pressure through to the end to win the match on aggregate, but the four rinks were shared.
