Melton Golf Club’s ladies’ section looked back on an excellent 2015 golfing season at their presentation evening.

The year started with Drina Terzza and Julia Brown winning their way through to the fifth round of the Mail on Sunday pairs competition before the newly-promoted handicap team ended the season with a respectable third place in Division One of the County League.

But they saved the best until last as Melton GC’s ladies helped the Mixed County Foursomes become Leicestershire and Rutland champions for the first time in the club’s history.

The ladies’ competitions during the season served up some superb golf and resulted in a Ladies’ Championship title for Sue Hitchman, and a President’s Putter win for Maureen Stapleford having secured wins in both legs of this competition.

The Lady Captain’s Player of the Year award went to Cheryl Osborne for her numerous trophy wins during 2015 and her resulting handicap reduction from 34.2 to 31.7.

As well as the aforementioned, the lady captain Karen Middleton and vice-captain Elizabeth Snow presented a host of trophies.
