Lake View Fishery: Huggins haul earns golden bonus

Huggins landed 103lb 13oz from golden peg 13 to secure a £150 bonus. But having already booked his place in the final, the qualifying spot went instead to third-placed Jason Sahall who weighed in with 60lb 13oz from peg 19.

Dave Harper was this week’s other qualifier after winning last Wednesday’s match with a final weight which was just a handful of ounces off three figures.

His final haul of 99lb 9oz, from peg 14 on the canal pool, saw him finish just four pounds ahead of Neil Edwards who was runner-up in both matches.

The final takes place on Saturday, March 11.

* Brian Greenbury topped a 13-strong field at the Sunday Open after landing 95lb 4oz from peg 17 on the canal pool.

Lake View Select angler Jason Sahall was second with 92lb 13oz, taken from peg 13.
