Lake View angling: Danby and Jackson land Middy final spots

Danby won last Wednesday’s qualifier with 69lb from peg 17 on the serpent lake, pipping Dave Harper by less than five pounds in a close-run match.

The margin of victory was even finer for Jackson who topped a small field at Saturday’s qualifier.

His haul of 66lb 13oz shaded runner-up Ryan Gibson by less than two pounds.

Wednesday runner-up Harper did get his win, however, when he headed a 15-man field at Sunday’s open match.

The Nottinghamshire angler won with the biggest haul of the week at Lake View, 74lb 5oz, taken from peg one on the river pool.
