Hamilton Tennis Club is gearing up for the forthcoming summer season with men's and ladies match practices under way and coaching sessions planned for the men's teams.

With the weather warming up, Tuesday and Thursday club nights are well attended as are the new men’s singles competitions on Friday nights.

On the match scene, the timed indoor league at Loughborough is coming to a close and Hamilton drew a very tight match with Market Harborough 25 games to 25.

Joe Jackson and Emily Harrison, and Graham Hall with Jessi Jackson both won their mixed matches, while Jessi and Emily clinched the tie when they held on for a 7-7 draw in the ladies’ doubles. Joe and Graham narrowly lost their men’s doubles.

* Hamilton is organising an Open Day on Saturday, March 25 for anyone who would like to try tennis or brush up on rusty skills.

This will be a drop-in session from 10am to 1pm for families and individuals of all ages and abilities.

Free coaching will be available and rackets will be available. Turn up in trainers.
